  • No, we do not have official themes assigned to each day this year. Instead, you’ll see optional themes reflected across the official calendar, helping attendees explore events and experiences by topic.

    Wednesday, April 22, is Earth Day, and we encourage everyone to participate in the many ways our community shows up that day — including volunteering, attending local events, and taking action in neighborhoods across the region.

    The full calendar will highlight Earth Day activities and other themed programming throughout the week.

  • No, DCCW is a nonpartisan organization. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that invites all sides of the conversation to the table to collaborate on solutions to climate change.

    As a nonpartisan group, we prioritize dialogue focused on commonalities while encouraging respectful disagreements. By bringing together diverse perspectives—across political, professional, and personal viewpoints—we aim to create more comprehensive and effective solutions to the climate challenges we face.

    Our belief is simple: collaboration leads to better outcomes. DCCW is a space for constructive dialogue, innovative ideas, and collective action, regardless of political affiliations.

  • DC Climate Week (DCCW) April 20–26, 2026 is a community-organized week of events and experiences across the Washington, DC region.  It brings together policymakers, climate professionals, industry leaders, students, artists, restauranteurs, small businesses, and community organizers to drive local and global climate action through events and experiences.

    Programming includes DCCW-hosted events — such as the opening ceremony, leadership forum, and climate career fair — as well as community-organized events and experiences hosted across the city.

    • Nonprofit representatives

    • Community organizers

    This collective ensures that DCCW reflects the diverse voices and expertise needed to create meaningful climate action and lasting change.

    DC Climate Week (DCCW) is an initiative operating under DMV Climate Collective, a DC based non-profit dedicated to fostering a thriving community of climate professionals and organizations in the Washington, DC area.

    DCCW is fiscally sponsored by Halcyon, a Washington, DC-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization renowned for empowering entrepreneurs and changemakers. Through its support, Halcyon helps amplify the impact of climate-focused initiatives by providing access to critical resources, networks, and funding opportunities that drive meaningful change in the region.

Getting involved

  • Absolutely! Organizations can sponsor specific events or the week as a whole. In-kind sponsorships, such as donating space or services, are also welcome.

  • At this time, the best way to speak at an event is to organize one.

  • Check out our venue directory for a list of available spaces. If you’re interested in a venue on the list, you can coordinate with the point of contact directly.

  • Anyone can register an event or experience as part of DCCW. To get started, check out the DC Climate Week Official Event and Experience Guide.

    If you submit an event through Luma, our team will review your submission and publish it on the official DCCW calendar.

    If you submit an experience, it will show up on our lineup immediately.

  • All DCCW-hosted events meet accessibility standards.

    We strongly encourage partner and community organizers to host events and experiences in accessible venues and to share accessibility details on their event pages whenever possible.

  • Events and experiences are hosted at venues throughout the DC region. Many locations are accessible by Metro, bus, bike share, and walking.

    We encourage attendees to use public transit, biking, walking, and other low-carbon options when possible.

  • We’ve partnered with TripZero to offer discounted hotel rates for DCCW attendees — while helping offset the carbon footprint of your travel. By purchasing certified carbon offsets, TripZero supports reforestation and methane reduction projects that remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and benefit local communities.

Event details

  • No. This year, we’re prioritizing in-person events and experiences.

  • Many events are free and open to the public.

    Some events and experiences hosted by partner or community organizations may require a registration fee. All events require advance registration due to capacity limits.

    When the official event calendar launches, you will be able to see registration details for each event.

  • Participants can:

    • Connect with climate professionals and community leaders

    • Explore climate careers

    • Learn about climate solutions and local action

    • Participate in hands-on projects, discussions, and experiences

  • Programming includes DCCW-hosted events — such as the opening ceremony, leadership forum, and climate career fair — as well as community-organized events and experiences hosted around the DC region.

    Events happen on one day only, such as:

    • Panels and conversations

    • Workshops and skill-building sessions

    • Networking gatherings

    • Startup and innovation showcases

    • Film screenings and talks

    • Community action events

    • Tours of local sustainability initiatives

    • And more!

    Experiences are multi-day or ongoing activations that people can take part in over several days — or throughout the entire week. Experiences include:

    • Art exhibits and performances

    • Food and restaurant-based activations

    • Small business features and pop-ups

    • Neighborhood and place-based activities

    • Other creative, community-led offerings

  • We bring together people working across sectors and communities, including:
